Kateel Sri Durga Parameshwari

I wanted to share details about my most favourite Temple and My most favourite Goddess. The place is Kateel and the goddess is Sri Durga Parameshwari. The temple is 30 km from Mangalore, a city in South Canara District of Mangalore. The temple is right in middle of a river called Nandini. More details on the link in the blog.

Whenever I visit this temple, my entire body feels as if am in a divine world. You enter the temple with the roars of the river Nandini flowing as if some 1000s of dhols are being played to welcome you the fortress of Maa Durgae. Once you enter, you would see the high ceilings and the Goddess sitting on her Majestic Simha Vahana, With full of flowers alankara. Just sit there for a while and close your eyes for dyana, you will be dragged to a world where there is no time moving. Once you are out, spend sometime near the banks of the river Nandini for a while brushing ur legs into the river. You would feel like all your sorrows are wiped by the water. Your energy level arouses on seeing the jumping fishes in the river as they travel the water current.

Sense God

I am sure every one of us would have asked to themselves or others, What, Why, Where is God ? . You also know the answer is not simple. Based on one's belief and experiences, each person chooses to either follow or oppose God. Either way we all thrive to find peace in our lives.

A person can find peace by many ways, by good deeds, by meditation, by listening to favourite music, by adoring nature. One such path to find peace is spiritualism. The path that takes you closer to the eternity on each step towards it. The path that gives you wonderful experiences on each curve you take. The path that goes deeper and deeper and makes you so addictive enough to ask yourself many questions. The path that also keeps you interested to find the answers. The path that gives you time to spend on something entirely different from the pressures of the world.

Yes, I am into the similar path in my life. I am happy enough to have adopted this way. I find myself very happy visiting a lot of temples. All kinds and all Gods. Because, each visit teaches me a new dimension on life and proves that you can always be happy provided you search for it. The happiness you get in knowing the sthala-purana [epics of a temple] is enormous.

As the saying goes, "Happiness gets multiplied, Sorrow gets divided, when shared", am here to share the most happy spiritual moments I had or I will have in my life.

For those who have not choosed the spiritual path towards finding peace, I sincerely hope you would find peace as much as we enjoy.
